The free IDE will promote "happy coding."

Microsoft has laid out its road map for upcoming improvements to Visual Studio Code, its open source code editor. The company plans to add improvements in three different areas:

  • Happy Coding: Visual Studio Code will get interface and user experience improvements that will make it easier to use.
  • Node, JavaScript and Typescript: The code editor will offer better server-side debugging, refinements to the Language Server Protocol, enhanced JavaScript discoverability and more.
