The code editor now boasts faster performance.

Microsoft has released Visual Studio Code 1.17, the latest version of its open source text editor. The new release has a number of improvements, most notably the addition of code folding for TypeScript, JavaScript, C and C++, C#, F#, PowerShell, and Visual Basic. Other new features include a canvas-based rendering engine in the integrated terminal capability, enhanced debugging messages, a source control providers section with support for multiple version control systems and new documentation for Java.

MacOS developers who use the tool got some additional OS-specific enhancements, including support for showing actions in the Touch Bar, the ability to use extension with the Touch Bar and native window tabs support for Sierra.
