The web-based project management tool Trello, which was acquired by Atlassian early last year, today announced the acquisition of Butler for Trello.

“With this acquisition, Trello users will have the ability to work smarter and faster by bringing the power of workplace automation to their Trello boards,” the company explained in a blog post.

With the acquisition of Butler, the company added, “Trello will be the only tool of its kind to have native automation capabilities. That means you don’t have to install any third-party tools or integrations to get the benefits of automation for your team.”

In the coming months, the company will be integrating Butler into Trello, after which it will be available to all Trello users, with Business Class and Enterprise customers given access to more advanced functionality and higher usage thresholds.

More information on the acquisition can be found in this FAQ.
