The Document Foundation Raises 50,000 Euros

The donations came from 2,000 donors in a little over a week to fund creating a legal entity for The Document Foundation in Germany.

The Document Foundation announced that the open source entity behind LibreOffice raised 50,000 euros in just eight days.

The donations came from 2,000 donors from all over the world to provide the capital stock necessary to setup a legal entity in Germany.

"We still can't believe it," Steering Committee Florian Effenberger said. "It happened in such a short period of time and was beyond our wildest expectations. You all really rock! On behalf of the Community, the Steering Committee would like to thank all the donors for their generous support."
