The Apache Software Foundation Launches 'Apache Extras'

Wednesday Dec 15th 2010 by Keith Vance

For Apache projects outside of official Apache projects, there's now Apache Extras.

The Apache Software Foundation announced today apache-extras.org.

It's a Web site hosted by Google for "code associated with Apache projects that are not part of the Foundation's" top-level projects or Apache Incubator and Labs initiatives.

"Apache Extras provides a home for Apache related software which is not formally a part of the ASF itself," ASF vice president of community development Ross Gardler explained. "Having these projects on a single hosting platform will help to further accelerate innovation involving Apache software."
