Tencent Now a Linux Foundation Platinum Member

The Chinese company is bolstering its commitment to open source development.

Chinese Web giant Tencent is becoming a platinum member of the Linux Foundation. That's the highest level of corporate sponsorship for the open source group. The company also announced that it will contribute a microservices project called TARS, a name service project called Tseer and an artificial intelligence project called Angel to the foundation.

Cisco, Huawei, Microsoft, AT&T, Samsung and IBM are also Platinum members of the Linux Foundation.
