Report: Google Is Creating an IoT OS Called Brillo

The Brillo project is said to be independent of Nest.

Several media outlets are reporting that Google is working on an Internet of Things (IoT) operating system that it calls Brillo, and Fortune says it has confirmed the story with its sources. Google has a division called Nest that works on smart home devices like thermostats and smoke detectors; Brillo is said to be independent but compatible with Nest.

The sources say that Google plans to debut the OS at its I/O developer conference next week.
