A majority also aren't implementing continuous delivery.

A new developer survey from DigitalOcean finds that a majority of developers aren't using the hottest new trends. For example, only 17 percent of developers worked with artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) in 2017. In addition, only 42 percent were implementing continuous integration (CI) or continuous delivery (CD), which are key parts of DevOps and agile software development.

Other findings from the survey included the following:

  • 89 percent of developers prefer Linux as a server operating system.
  • 67 percent of developers selected LetsEncrypt as their favorite SSL provider.
  • Nearly half of developers will be looking for a new job next year.
