Mozilla Predicts an End to the 'Browser'

by Keith Vance

Mozilla chairperson Mitchell Baker said that the notion of a Web "browser" will be radically changing in the near future.

At the LeWeb conference last week, Mitchell Baker, chairperson of the Mozilla Foundation and former CEO of Mozilla Corporation, said that she thinks "browser" is the wrong word for our window to the Web.

Mashable's Ben Parr reported that Baker said, "The way we think about it is much too concrete. We don't browse anymore for sure."

Parr said that Baker "believes that the key to the browser is how we customize our experience on the Web and she says that personalization will be a major trend for the Web browser in the future."
