One of the most discussed (and disliked) features on the Apple iPhone X is the "notch," the cutout section in the screen that accommodates the front-facing camera and other sensors. Now it looks like other smartphone manufacturers are going to copy Apple's design. TechCrunch is reporting that upcoming phones from Huawei and Asus (phone that haven't yet been announced) will also feature the notch. For mobile development firms, that could mean more work in making sure their apps can accommodate the various screen sizes and notches.
The article also notes that an alternate approach to accommodating the front-facing camera is on display at this week's Mobile World Congress. Several manufacturers are showing devices with pop-up cameras that hide behind trap doors until they are needed.
