by Developer.com Staff

The new mobile OS will be a lot like the Windows 8 desktop OS.

At the Windows Phone Summit, Microsoft revealed some details about the forthcoming Windows Phone 8. The updated OS shares many features with Windows 8, making it easier for developers to port their apps between both platforms. Other new features include multi-core chip support, support for three different display sizes, improved HTML5 support, improved JavaScript performance and improved security for enterprise customers.

The bad news? Current Windows Phone 7 devices won't be able to run Windows Phone 8.
