Microsoft Eliminates Some Azure Discounts

by Developer.com Staff

The move is unusual in the cloud computing industry, where prices have been declining rapidly.

Recently, the large cloud computing vendors have been busily cutting prices, but in a surprising move, Microsoft has decided to do away with one of its discount plans. Specifically, its six- and twelve-month subscription plans, which offered discounts of 20 to 32 percent, stopped accepting new customers on July 16.

Microsoft did not announce the change. A spokesperson said the company has "nothing to share at this time" but may have more to say in a month.
