iOS Mobile Web Debugging Comes to Visual Studio Code

by Developer.com Staff

Mobile development pros can now debug iOS mobile Web apps from PCs.

Microsoft has unveiled a new Visual Studio Code extension that allows users to debug iOS mobile Web apps on PCs or Macs. The iOS Web Debugger for Visual Studio Code helps developers find flaws in JavaScript running in the Safari browser. Key features include setting of breaking points, stack traces, debugging of eval scripts and virtual forwarding via HTTP tunnel from the local PC.

The software giant has recently been making overtures to mobile development pros who write iOS code. It purchased cross-platform development tool vendor Xamarin, and the next version of its Visual Studio IDE will have more features for iOS development.
