Google Releases Chromecast SDK

by Developer.com Staff

Now anyone can create apps for Chromecast.

As previously promised, Google has released a software development kit (SDK) for Chromecast, its device which allows users to view content from smartphones, tablets and PCs on their TVs. According to the company, it's "simple" to integrate the SDK into existing apps or websites to allow them to support the device. However, developers do need to pay a $5 fee.

To ease the process of using the SDK, Google has also released some other resources, including sample apps for Chromecast.
