Google Chrome 8: Stable, Now Available

More than 800 bugs have been squashed in the latest Google Chrome 8 release. Google paid out $4,000 in security bug bounties.

The Chrome team announced a new stable version, 8.0.552.215, of Chrome is now available.

"In addition to the over 800 bug fixes and stability improvements," according to the announcement, "Chrome 8 now contains a built in PDF viewer that is secured in Chrome's sandbox."

As part of Google's security bounty program, with this release, Google paid out $4,000 to security bug bounty hunters.
