Firefox, Chrome Strengthen Web Development Features

Wednesday Aug 7th 2013 by Developer.com Staff

The browsers have updated their capabilities for developers.

Both Firefox and Chrome have recently improved their Web development features. For Firefox 23, Mozilla added to the Web developer toolbar a new options panel that makes it easier to customize the browser's built-in debugger. The release also includes Network Monitor, which displays all the actions a browser takes when downloading a page. In addition, it improves some HTML5 support.

Not to be outdone, Google has updated its Chrome Developer Tools with Workspaces, a built-in code editor. The update also adds live editing of pre-processed CSS files and the ability to save scripts, bookmarks and utilities so that developers can access them while writing code.
