A new report from Flurry indicates that international competition is heating up in the mobile development industry. In 2011 and 2012, users spent about 45 percent of their app time with apps that were made by U.S. developers. However, this year, the percentage dropped to 36 percent. Apps like Angry Birds (made in Finland), Cut the Rope (made in Russia) and Fruit Ninja (made in Australia) are just a couple of examples of the trend.
Flurry also broke its data down by country. Users located in the states spend 59 percent of their app time with U.S-made apps. But that percentage drops significantly in other countries: U.K. users spend 35 percent of their time with U.S. apps, Brazilians 25 percent and Chinese just 16 percent.
