Stack Overflow has a new analysis of which programming languages and technologies programmers like and dislike. On the site, developers can specify which tools they want to work with and which they don't want to work with. The aggregate of this data tells an interesting story. Here's an overview:

  • The most disliked languages are Perl, Delphi, VBA, PHP and Objective-C.
  • The least disliked languages are R, Typescript and Rust.
  • The most disliked technologies are Internet Explorer, Visual Basic, Cobol, Flash and ASP Classic.
  • The most liked technologies are machine learning, Git, Python 3.x, HTML5 and CSS 3.
