by Developer.com Staff

Keeping Microsoft's cloud computing service secure is a costly endeavor.

According to Microsoft, its Azure cloud computing service is the target of 1.5 million breach attempts every single day. In order to defend against those attacks, the company employs 3,500 security engineers and uses an artificial intelligence system called Intelligent Security Graph, which absorbs hundreds of gigabytes of threat data every second.

In all, these cloud security efforts cost Microsoft more than $1 billion every year.
