High-availability software maker dumps proprietary business model for open source business model.

GoAhead Software announced today that it's embracing an open source business model.

The Bellevue, Washington company is the maker of the high-availability middleware SAFfire - a distribution of the OpenSaf project. Now SAFfire is called OpenSAFfire.

"The adoption of open source by industry leaders combined with the rapid maturing of OpenSAF technology makes the timing of this decision ideal for our company," said Asif Naseem, President and COO of GoAhead Software. "We look forward to contributing our breadth of experience in high availability software to this vibrant community."
