Sony announces dash personal Internet viewer.

Sony calls it a dash "personal Internet viewer." At CES 2010, Sony introduced the small form-factor computer with a 7-inch color touch screen running on the open source dash platform.

Because the it's an open platform, any developer can submit applications to Sony for the dash. There are currently more than 1,000 free applications available.

The dash personal Internet viewer is designed to sit on a bed side table, on the kitchen counter or more likely on the dash of a car.

The personal Internet viewer will be available for purchase in April for around $199.
