Apple Woos Chinese Developers

Saturday Dec 8th 2012 by Developer.com Staff

China is becoming increasingly important to the company's plans.

In an effort to persuade more Chinese mobile development pros to create apps for the iPhone and iPad, Apple has released a Chinese language version of Start Developing iOS Apps Today. The company also has a feedback forum for Chinese developers.

This month, Apple is also planning its biggest ever product launch in China. The iPad Mini, 4th generation iPad and the iPhone 5 will soon hit Chinese shelves.

According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, 15 percent of Apple's revenue in fiscal 2012 came from China. "[This] is really phenomenal when you think about it," Cook said. "That's up over $10 billion year on year."
