The acquisition should help bolster AppFog's Node.js capabilities.

Platform as a service provider AppFog has announced that it has purchased Nodester, a PaaS for Node.js. According to AppFog, Node.js was already its fastest growing cloud development community. The acquisition of Nodester, which was the largest Node.js PaaS, should help AppFog's Node.js user base grow even faster.

“AppFog was incredibly impressed from day one with the market-leading community that Nodester has built,” said Lucas Carlson, CEO of AppFog. “And now that Node is now tied with PHP for having the most number of applications running - so bringing our operational excellence and poly-infrastructure support to the loyal Nodester users is a win for everyone.”

The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal.
