Android Marshmallow Now on 18.7% of Devices

by Developer.com Staff

Fragmentation continues to plague the Android mobile development platform.

Google has updated its monthly dashboard showing how many people are using each version of Android. Eleven months after its release, Android 6.0 Marshmallow has climbed to 18.7 percent of users from 15.2 percent in August. That still puts it in third place behind Android 4.4 KitKat with 27.7 percent of users and Android 5.1 Lollipop with 21.9 percent of users.

Google has begun rolling out the newest version of its operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat, but it still accounts for less than 0.1 percent of Android users.
