Adobe Creative Cloud Bug Deletes Files

by Developer.com Staff

Only Mac users are affected by the problem with the cloud computing service.

Developers, designers and others who use Adobe's Creative Cloud service are scrambling to recover lost data after a bug in the service deleted some of their files. The problem is affecting Mac users who have installed a Creative Cloud update. Reportedly, the update deletes all data in the first folder in alphabetic order in their root folder. Many people who use the Backblaze backup service have noticed the problem because Backblaze relies on a folder called .bzvol, which is first in alphabetical order on many users' systems.

Adobe hasn't yet released fix for the problem, saying only, "We are aware that some customers have experienced this issue and we are investigating in order to resolve the matter as quickly as possible. We are stopping the distribution of the update until the issue has been resolved."
