Netbeans for AndroidOriginally developed by a Prague university student, NetBeans was bought by Sun Microsystems in 1999 and then by Oracle in 2010. Like Eclipse, NetBeans is known primarily as a Java IDE, but it also supports many other languages. It is the official IDE for Java 8 and boasts a large community of users. The latest version offers improved support for Node.js, Maven, PHP and C/C++. Plug-ins provide additional support for Android development. The PYPL Index ranks NetBeans as the fifth most popular IDE.
