DevOps, the IT philosophy that merges development and operations, is usually discussed in terms of its benefits for enterprise application development, but ReadWrite's Adam Duro says startups should use devops as well. "It’s wrong to assume that only enterprise businesses can benefit from or need a DevOps strategy," he writes. "Whether you are an organization the size of Facebook or a one-man tech startup, DevOps is now a way of life and ignoring it can make or break a company of any size."
Duro offers three reasons for his claims:
- Devops allows startups to use their time more efficiently.
- Devops promotes stability, predictability and testability.
- Devops helps small firms build an inventory of code to create efficiencies as they scale.
