RIM Announces the Release of BlackBerry Java SDK v7.0 beta for Developers

The BlackBerry Java SDK v7.0 Beta is going to be packed with new features intended to provide developers with an abundance of new and useful APIs.

Probably the most prominent of the new API's in the BlackBerry Java SDK v7.0 is the new "Send API", which will now allow other apps to send information to contacts, similiar to what RIM apps can do today. This new update wil be provided in Eclipse plugin and standalone JDE formats.

New features included with v7.0 beta will include such features as updates to support the new OS version, OpenGL ES 2.0, Window Manager API, Compass APIs, Near Field Communication (NFC) APIs, Video capture APIs, Send Menu API, an updated Unified Search API, updated BlackBerry Maps API and many more.
