The court says Android users can sue Google to recover in-app purchase fees.

A court in California has approved a plaintiff's request to file a class-action lawsuit against over Android in-app purchases. The plaintiff in the case is a mother who entered her password into Google Play to allow her son to download a game. She did not realize that her password would remain active for the next half hour, and during that time, her son racked up $65.95 in charges from in-app purchases, all without re-entering a password.

The judge rejected Google's request to dismiss the case.

Both the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the European Commission (EC) have been investigating similar complaints related to in-app purchases.

Currently, the mobile development industry generates the majority of its revenue through in-app purchases.
