Researchers are asking developers for help in unraveling the mystery.

Security researchers from Kaspersky Lab have been examining the Duqu variant of the Stuxnet malware, and they say it includes an unknown programming language. Unlike the rest of the Trojan, the Duqu Framework is not written in C++. "It is possible that its authors used an in-house framework to generate intermediary C code, or they used another completely different programming language," explained the researchers. "However, Kaspersky Lab researchers have confirmed that the language is object-oriented and performs its own set of related activities that are suitable for network applications."

The firm is asking programmers for their input to help solve the mystery. More details about the language can be found at the Kaspersky blog.
