RIM has announced the availability of the "gold" master version of the software development kit (SDK) and the APIs for BlackBerry 10. Developers can download their choice of the native SDK, C++/Qt-based Cascades, HTML 5-based WebWorks, Adobe AIR or the Android Runtime.
The release of BlackBerry 10 has been postponed numerous times. The official launch is now scheduled for January 30. Many industry observers say that the new operating system must be a hit with end users in order for RIM to remain viable as a company.
