During the first day of its 2014 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple reported that its App Store now has more than 1.2 million apps, up from 900,000 a year ago. Users have downloaded those apps 75 billion times, compared to 50 billion last year. iPhone and iPad owners now visit the App Store 300 million times every week.
In addition, CEO Tim Cook said that 9 million people have registered as iOS developers—that’s a 47 percent increase in twelve months.
To help mobile development firms stand out amid all that competition, the company plans some changes to the App Store.
